台湾戏剧艺术中心将是台湾第一个供国光剧团为驻在团的专属场所,另外提供国乐团、台湾音乐中心和

建筑设计由两个体量构成：北侧的体量以戏剧为主,南侧的体量则以音乐为主,目标是提供独立但又得
以互相支持的表演艺术场地.在高楼层的创作和制作部门,桥的连接象征性和功能性地结合两个体量.位于
高楼层区的表演者享有景观视野.一般群众则由低楼层两个体量间所创造出的豁口平台进入剧院或大排练室
观赏表演,也可以继续向前延伸至西侧的磺溪.此戏曲平台可同时运用于非正式的表演,创意市集或是街头
艺术的所在.以动线来引领参观民众自公园广场步行而入,经大阶梯至河畔的公园,享受闲逸的美景.

A Performing Arts Center as a home for performers and musicians, to foster interactions among artists and audience.
The Taiwan Traditional Performing Arts Center will be the first repertoire theater in Taiwan for the Chinese Opera troupe
Guoguang Opera Company, and will contain additional facilities to house National Chinese Orchestra, Taiwan Music Institute
and the Taiwan National Choir. It will include performance venues for the public, and provides a place for artists from different
disciplines to interact with each other in the process of creating art.
The architecture is composed of two main volumes: the north volume houses the theatrical discipline, while the southern volume
accommodates the musical discipline. The facilities are aimed for both individual and shared resources. At the top floors where

the creative and production departments are located, bridges connect the two parts of the building together functionally and
symbolically. On these upper floors, artists can enjoy great spaces and views. On the lower levels, the general public is able to
either attend performances in the theaters or in the large rehearsal rooms, or follow an access that runs from the plaza level,
through the gap between the two volumes, and ascends to reach the dike by the river to the west. This pedestrian path creates
a vibrant promenade where casual performances, arts vendors and other street activities can occur. This path will also guide
visitors to the riverbank, where they can enjoy the spectacular view of the park across the river.
